Prayer Circle– Where there is a crisis it is a great comfort to know that we don't have to face it alone. The Prayer Circle (which is confidential ) works by sending telephone messages to members who have promised to pray reegularly for those requesting prayer. In a short period of time many people are lifting up your needs to God. Short or long term, there is such a feeling of support to know someone is praying for you and the comfort and strength that you can gain from the prayer ministry. It really does make a difference. If you would like a prayer for yourself, a friend or member of your family then please telephone one of the Intercessors on the Prayer Chain which is available from your branch leader or on your church notice board. Details can be as brief as you wish and first names only are used. Prayers will be offered for one month, but if you would like our prayer to continue, then just let us know. It would be helpful to keep the member of the prayer circle to whom you have given your request updated on the situation.
Please contact any of the above Prayer Circle Members if you wish to have someone included on the Prayer List. The Prayer Chain is confidential and names are left on for one month unless otherwise requested. The Prayer Circle is for everyone, not only for Mothers’ Union members.

Loving Lord,
we pray for your love and compassion to abound as we journey though these challenging times.
(Think of any safe and practical ways you can show God’s love and compassion at this time)
We pray for wisdom to those who bear the load of making decisions with widespread consequences.
(Take a moment to pray for those in positions of influence at local, national and international levels)
We pray for those who are suffering with sickness and for all who are caring for them.
(Pray particularly for any known to you, including those who work in the health profession)
We pray for protection for the elderly and vulnerable that they may not succumb to the risks of the virus.
(Consider if there is anything helpful you can do for those in this category – shopping or other errands? – bearing safety in mind)
We pray misinformation to be curbed, that no fears may take hold in hearts and minds.
(Take any opportunity to reassure those who are feeling anxious, especially over unsubstantiated concerns)
As we exercise the good sense that you in your mercy provide, may we also approach each day in faith and peace, trusting in the truth of your love and goodness towards us.
(Give thanks to God for his constant presence with us in every circumstance of life)
Loving Lord,
grant that the prayers of your faithful people may find favour in your sight;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

INDOOR MEMBERS' PRAYERLoving heavenly Father,
Lord of all the world, you know the secret thoughts of every heart and hear the prayers of all. You have chosen us to work for you and be as one in prayer. Guide us in our prayerful task and strengthen us to do your will. Uphold us in our weakness and our doubt that those for whom we intercede may truly come to know your healing peace and love. We ask this in Jesus’ name, your only Son, our Lord. Amen. |
