Mary Sumner
In 1876 Mary Sumner founded the Mothers’ Union to give spiritual guidance and practical help to mothers and families. It quickly developed from a meeting for local mothers in her sitting room to a worldwide Christian organisation with more than 4.1 million members in 83 countries. Though our lives and experience of the Mothers’ Union may differ widely depending on where we are, we are united by our shared belief in the importance of family values. We all have something to offer and something to learn. We have strong personal links between members around the world and we unite in prayer, worship and fellowship
